Dream Boats I 2006
This screenprint done at Artrite Screenprinting Ltd, Onehunga, Auckland, is the first version of the Dream Boats composition, an oil painting completed in 2005 by Michael Smither. The subject is the result of a dream in which the artist saw a series of small boats appear on the hull of a larger boat. The forms of the boats are a development of his Okahu Bay series of paintings and drawings.
