This Kuakua Flute is carved in New Zealand by our Taonga carver, Paora Martin out of bovine bone.
The Koauau is a Maori musical instrument which was used by the men of the tribe to attract a wahine (woman) to the music of the flute, hoping to find a wife. The call was known to bring the ear and spirit of the woman to this captivating musical sound.
