Princess Iona, a Greek Purple Jewel, is the daughter of 'Queen Of The World'. Iona was a very popular girls name in the early 1920s. I consider this painting to be one of the best faces I've painted to date ...quite plain and simple but at the same time, mysterious and androgynous looking. A decision is being made about what ..? with the help of an Aunt.
Princess Iona was painted in New Zealand in 2012 for inclusion in the Family Love Collection.
