Jacqueline graduated from the Otago Polytechnic School of Art in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has worked as a dedicated artist and is considered to be amongst New Zealand’s most talented painters. Over the years Jacqueline has become renown for seascapes that capture the realist mesmerising qualities of water. She says living around different coastal areas has allowed her to explore seascapes and draw in ideas from their watery environments. The realist depiction of abstract patterns in nature lead to a realist aesthetic that evolved incidentally but was to influence her work for years to come.
Having a strong connection to the coast, Jacqueline has worked as an artist in Hahei, Raglan, the Far North, the Kapiti Coast and now Taranaki, returning to the area to participate in the Mercury Bay Art Escape and continues to showcase her new works and limited Edition prints throughout the year at Bread & Butter Gallery who is Jacqueline Elley’s exclusive Art Dealer and exhibiting Gallery on the Peninsula. Jacquelines work can be seen in private and investment collections throughout New Zealand and overseas.
